Album reviews
All of these are written as I listen to the albums and probably aren't even true
jonathan's home - DIBS!
Wolf love: very fun, very silly; good track, I heard it before though
Toxic town: In a word? Fucks. Mario demonstrating his competency on guitar with an impressive atmosphere for such a minimalist track
To shine the torch of pathy: Remarkably cohesive for how much it has going on, each part feels like it's doing something different but they're all heading in the same direction, very evocative of particular headspaces and feelings for me but I think they're tangential to the intended angle
But that's art, I guess
I cried: The beatles if they were awesome instead of british and they had listened to that one good queens of the stone age record. Not sure if any of that is accurate but it's what came to mind
O maria: Far. Out. This might be my favourite song I've heard in a while, just excellent in ways I'm not competent enough to describe with a funky lead break to boot. After talking to Mario about this track a while ago I had high hopes and it certainly did not disappoint
Stray cat swing: Really good in the same way those claymation videos on youtube from 15 years ago are (ex. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7T1llQSMj-o). A bit of light fun after O maria while still being contusive to whatever those claymation videos feel like. Yeah. Also the least Mario-like I've heard him sound in a song which is neither good nor bad, just different
Getting rude (explicit): quite silly again, I honestly think I might've preferred this without the speed on Mario's voice? But it'd be a different kind of song then so I don't hold it against him. Also, "Way to faded In this jumper" - evil joel fields reference?????
This is the end times: good, but not insanely of note imo. Zara Rose ref???
Verdict: great album, I'm going to pay $5 for it and put it ono my ipod and you should too
